Funeral arrangements for James King – please help if you can.

Event Details

James KingFuneral arrangements for James King have been announced. His family and friends wanted to wait a few days to allow his many, many friends in the music world to make plans to travel and attend.

Viewing and visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 23, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Services in Mt. Airy, NC. The funeral will be held there as well on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., with burial to follow in the King family plot in Cana, VA.

Both visitation and funeral services are open to the public.

James’ past two years of health problems, and his resulting inability to work a full schedule, has left his finances in tatters. The same is true for the family of Becky Rhodes who have cared for him since the middle of 2014.

The medical fund set up a few years back to help with health care costs has been revamped to now accept donations for the funeral expenses and an appropriate headstone. Let’s all chip in and help them send King off with a flourish, and have a permanent marker commensurate with his status in the hearts of bluegrass lovers worldwide.

To make a donation, visit James’ page at GoFundMe, where you can make a contribution using a major credit card or Paypal account.
