Banjo spot open with Carolina Blue

Event Details

Carolina BlueCarolina Blue is on the hunt for a new banjo picker. The Brevard, NC-based band plays contemporary bluegrass with a focus on the traditional side of the street.

Their current banjo man, Seth Rhinehart, is stepping aside to focus on his work with Mark Kuykendall, Bobby Hicks & Asheville Bluegrass. Carolina Blue has been averaging roughly 70 dates each year, and are looking at 2017 as a possible breakout year for the group.

Bobby Powell and Tim Jones founded the band in 2007 after the two friends recorded an album of original music together, Nothing So Blue. Tim plays mandolin and Bobby guitar, with both doing the lead singing. They had worked as a quartet for several years with Reese Combs on bass until adding Emma Best on fiddle and vocals more recently. Carolina Blue is represented by Southern Belle Booking.
