Michael Jonathan, long-time host of the Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour, has announced that his live music program will soon be offered to cable subscribers of BlueHighways TV. This gives the show an enviable reach, as it is already carried by more than 500 radio affiliates, Armed Forces Radio, Kentucky Educational TV and 35 other PBS television affiliates, in addition to live webcasts on the day each show is taped.
Jonathan says the format of the show will have to be slightly modified for BlueHighways, but the content won’t be affected.
Woodsongs will air on BhTV each Friday evening at 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. (EST), and again the following Tuesdays at noon.
Bluegrass music has been a staple among the acoustic and folk-based offerings on the show, which Michael says will continue to be the case.
“I love bluegrass music and feature everyone from Rhonda Vincent to Noam Pikelny, Don Rigsby to Sam Bush.
Folks can find out more about the show and stream it live every Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. EDT via www.woodsongs.com
WoodSongs continues to be all-voluteer run and audience driven. The project has no sponsors, underwriters or grants.”
Archives are maintained of previous shows online, in both audio and video. Recent programs include the aforementioned Noam Pikelny, plus Stetson & Cia, Donna Ulisse, Jake Schepps, The Hillbenders, Nu-Blu, Darin & Brooke Aldridge, Mountain Heart and Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver.
