We just can’t do it! Brance and I, and a team of guest video-watching judges, have been unable to reach a consensus on which six of the many entries in our Have Bass Will Travel contest deserve to move on to the final round.
So in classic, pass-the-buck fashion, we are washing our hands of the question and asking our readers to bail us out.
The contest started as a fun promotion for Alison Krauss & Union Station bass man Barry Bales’ AcuTab instructional DVD, A Solid Foundation To Acoustic Bass. We invited participants to create their own video in response to this one Barry made about getting his upright bass around.
The plan had been to choose the top six entries, and hand them off to Barry to pick a winner – but they were all so good, we just couldn’t eliminate any of them.
So… We’ve created a poll that will allow each of you to cast your vote for the top six videos, and the six with the most votes between now and midnight Friday night (8/28, 12:00 a.m. EDT) will be selected as finalists.
These six finalists will receive:
- Autographed copy of AcuTab’s Barry Bales bass DVD
- Set of D’Addario HH610 Helicore bass strings
From those six, Barry Bales will choose a Grand Prize winner who will get:
- Custom Colorado Case bass case
- Registration and accommodations at Bass Stummit III
