Talang 2010 is the 2010 version of Sweden’s Got Talent. Swedish bluegrass group Cold Mountain Band made it as far as the semi-finals before the show’s judges passed over them. But it’s not over yet. Only two groups were selected on the show, to go on to the finals. Two more acts will now be chosen, one by jury, the other by the general public via internet vote.
Thorsten Jakobsson, a fan from Sweden sent us this report:
Bluegrass music in Sweden receives very little air-time despite the fact that those who discover it are often enthusiastic. Cold Mountain Band have now performed twice in ‘Sweden’s got talent’, which is sent during prime time viewing (Friday, 8 o’clock) and their ultimate goal has always been to spread bluegrass music in Sweden.
If you’d like to cast a vote for Cold Mountain Band, and give them a chance to perform in the final round, you can visit Sweden’s TV4 and cast your vote. Voting will continue through 12 noon tomorrow (5/30). When you select Cold Mountain Band from the list of artists on that page, you can then click “Se resultat” (View Results) to see how they’re doing. At time of this writing they only have 2% of the vote, so I’m sure they would appreciate the bluegrass community rallying behind them and giving them a push into the final round.
In case you’re curious what the band sounds like, here’s the video of their performance from the semi-final round.
