Trial by fire for Jake Stargel

Mountain Heart’s new lead guitarist, Jake Stargel, had quite a first gig with the band yesterday. Right out of the gate, he was on stage with Tony Rice at Red, White & Bluegrass in North Carolina.

Here’s some video from yesterday’s stage show, where Stargel gets a chance to shine on his own.

Jake tells us that he is plenty excited about this next chapter in his musical career.

“I’m really looking forward to getting to make music with Mountain Heart! Just getting to groove with these guys is a treat! Its gonna be pushing me in a lot of new great ways….”

  • Mountain Heart is one of the most exciting things going on in the world of Bluegrass, Jake looks like he will fit in quite well, hey, might as well let Tony Rice stay too.(No, I know that he is a bit busy). It was nice seeing Josh help Jake out by staying on the guitar with him during the song instead of playing some piano. These guys humor always takes the day, at the end of clip you will hear Jim say something, and then repeat it, Play a line in the Key of G Tony. This is going to be a great new Cd for them, I have been listening to all of their old stuff, plus I saw a show up here last month. These guys are really starting to click.
