Toy Hearts’ Whiskey coming soon

Toy Hearts - WhiskeyEngland’s high-fashion, swing-singing sisters, Hannah and Sophia Johnson, are set to release a new Toy Hearts CD with their dad, Stewart, this Spring.

Whiskey, their 4th album, is in the final post-production stages now and the band expects to announce a release date shortly. Sophia tells us that all of the tracking was done in their home studio, with Eamon McLoughlin adding fiddle in Nashville, where Ben Surratt is currently blending and mixing.

Sophia promised to send an audio sample or two soon, but did share the cover image, along with this wonderfully British comment:

“No doubt the world and his wife will say our heels are too high and skirts too short – especially dad!”

It will be interesting to see where the Johnson’s music is going these days. Their first two albums were decidedly bluegrass, but their most recent, Femme Fatale,  evidenced their growing fascination with American swing music as well.

And of course, neither bluegrass nor swing artists and fans know a thing about whiskey.
