The Travelin’ McCourys will team up again to offer three days of instrumental bluegrass instruction prior to Delfest 2010 in Cumberland, MD.
The band, more widely known as The Del McCoury Band minus Del, consists of Ronnie McCoury on mandolin, Rob McCoury on banjo, Jason Carter on fiddle and Alan Bartram on bass. They will serve as the faculty at this year’s Delfest Academy, along with Ronnie Bowman on guitar.
Workshops run Tuesday through Thursday (May 25-27), with the official festival kickoff on Friday the 28th. Each day will feature instructional in small group settings on the instrument of your choice, with a return of last year’s popular Bluegrass Karaoke each evening, where students get to sign up to perform with the faculty on stage.
