Spring BMP available now

Also in mailboxes this week is the May/June issue of Bluegrass Music Profiles, with a handsome photo of Don Rigsby on the cover. There is also an in-depth and very candid interview with Don on the inside.

He discusses his intense focus on his recording, performing and producing career, the recent Lonesome River Band reunion, his new Rebel Records Gospel project, his new group with Richard Bennett and Phil Leadbetter, the tragedies he’s faced with his band Midnight Call, his recent weight loss, why he started playing bluegrass, who gave him his first mandolin, and how he feels about leaving the post as director of Morehead State University’s Kentucky Center for Traditional Music.

“I want to work with my band and do most of my work with them and some Longview dates and some things with Phil Leadbetter and Richard Bennett – and anything else along the side – just fill in all the gaps. When you’ve got a bucket you get water out of one tap and go to the next tap and get some more, eventually the bucket will get full. That’s kind of what I’m hoping – and maybe catch a few raindrops in there, too.”

Publisher Kevin Kerfoot mentioned some of the other features in this edition of BMP…

“The Spring 2010 issue also includes a Claire Lynch poster, DJ Profile with Bob Mitchell, coverage of the Dailey & Vincent Sing The Statler Brothers CD release party, Bill McBee’s Backstage Bluegrass column, Q&A with Darin and Brooke Aldridge, ShopTalk with Lonesome River Band’s Mike Anglin, Adam Steffey’s Bluegrass Favorites, Songwriter Profile with Rick Lang, and much more!”
