For the second single from their upcoming Cover To Cover album with Signature Sounds – which as you might guess is an all-covers project – AJ Lee & Blue Summit have created a grassy, acoustic version of Sheryl Crow’s summertime anthem, Soak Up The Sun.
The band is a product of the California festival scene, where the four of them met up as teens, forming the group as it remains today, with its distinctively west coast attitude and sound.
Lee is the mandolinist and lead vocalist, who has won rave reviews for her clear and captivating singing voice. Alongside her are both Scott Gates and Sullivan Tuttle on acoustic guitars and vocals, and Jan Purat on fiddle. Chad Bowen and a cast of bass players accompany the quartet on stage and in the studio.
Appearing as guests on the covers album are familiar names like Jerry Douglas, Lindsay Lou, Trey Hensley, and several others.
Have a listen to Soak Up The Sun.
