Though we weren’t able to have correspondents at the Folk Alliance conference in Memphis last month, our Bluegrass Today advertising and promotion team was on the ground scoping things out.
They reported encountering a good many bluegrass and grass-like acts in attendance, all looking for greater exposure in the wider folk music world. We’ll certainly be looking for greater coverage next year. On hand were Kickin’ Grass, The Bankesters, The Roys, Pert Near Sandstone, Jim Lauderdale, Nora Jane Struthers and PJ George from Bearfoot, Sierra Hull, and The Tuttles among others.
Photographer Heather Simmons shared some of her images from Folk Alliance, showing that there were plenty of banjos and fiddles in evidence.
