Peter Rowan on Music City Roots

We posted last week about Peter Rowan signing with Compass Records, and starting work on a new CD with The Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band.

You’ll have a chance to hear his new group tonight when they perform on Music City Roots, broadcast live from Nashville on WSM at 8:00 p.m. (EDT). Along with Pete on guitar and vocals, the band includes Jody Stetcher on mandolin, Keith Little on banjo and Paul Knight on bass.

Music City Roots airs each Wednesday evening at 8:00, and is hosted by Craig Havighurst, a noted Nashville videographer and a member of the IBMA Board. It launched in October 2009 shortly after IBMA week and has featured bluegrass and Americana artists along with alt country and Nashville underground performers since that time.

In addition to Rowan and his bluegrass boys, tonight’s show will offer sets from Bearfoot, Red Molly, Harpeth Rising and David Olney.

Tune in over the air if you can get WSM’s broadcast signal at 650 AM, or listen online.
