Niall Toner to Pinecastle

Irish bluegrass singer and songwriter Niall Toner has signed with Pinecastle Records, with a new project set to coincide with Toner’s US tour in the Fall of 2012.

Niall made quite a bit of noise with his single, William Smith Monroe, released during the summer of 2011. It’s a loving look at our dear Father of Bluegrass which received wide airplay from bluegrass radio in the US, Canada, UK and Europe.

His first effort for Pinecastle will be a new set of Toner originals, and he is eager to get to work on the project.

Β “I am thrilled and delighted to be the first Irish artist signed to Pinecastle Records. It’s a dream come true for me, and an honour to be part of a label roster that includes many of my own musical heroes, like Jesse McReynolds and the Osborne Brothers.

I look forward to working with Lonnie, Ethan, Matt and the entire Pinecastle team. Onwards and upwards.”

Here’s a reprise of the video Niall created for William Smith Monroe. Definitely worth a second look.
