Joshua Raines now on guitar with the Chris Davis Band
Chris Davis has checked in some news about his touring group, who are making waves wherever they perform. A recent former member of Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers when Joe retired from the road, Chris has also been a prominent member of the Grascals, Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, and the Marty Raybon Band.
This year he has decided to go for it as a solo artist, with a talented band in tow.
Here’s his report…
“We are experiencing some first-year growing pains, but I am excited to announce some updates to our lineup.
Replacing original guitar/vocalist Swanagan Ray is Josh Raines from Clintwood, VA. Josh previously played with Ernie Thacker, and the Virginia-based bluegrass band, Bad Ridge.
Replacing Mason Crone on banjo is veteran banjoist Mike Mullins, also originally from southwest Virginia. Mike played with Ernie Thacker for many years, as well as in Bad Ridge alongside Josh.
I am really excited about this lineup. Zach Collier is rock solid on bass and tenor, and adding Mike and Josh to the mix is going to bring a whole new vibe to the band.”
Nashville folks who want to check out Chris’ new sound can see them at The Station Inn on Saturday, April 18. The show begins at 9:00 p.m.
