Mountain Heart Hostile Takeover at WSM

Josh Shilling and Jim VanCleve from Mountain Heart will commandeer the live WSM radio signal in Nashville this Thursday (4/1) from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. (CDT) in what they are calling the Mountain Heart Hostile Takeover.

WSM has been promoting these Celebrity Studio Takeovers of late. Dierks Bentley has Monday, Pam Tillis has Tuesday, Jim Lauderdale has Wednesday, and they have a special guest artist on Thursdays. Old Crow Medicine Show had last Thursday, and Mountain Heart has it this week.

VanCleve tells us that the station basically turns the studio over to them for an hour, with an engineer to assist. They will play some of the music that they feel has influenced the band over the years, which Jim says is tough to do in only an hour.

“We are going to play songs that helped shape who we’ve become as a band, so there’s stuff in there from all over the map that has made us Mountain Heart. Our musical making, in song…so to speak. Everybody selected some stuff that was influential, and we tried to take a cross section of that material to play on the show.

Plus we’ll play some of the new music we are recording.

Here’s Jim and Josh to explain what they have on tap…
