WDVX radio is a strong supporter of bluegrass music in and around Knoxville, TN where they broadcast at 89.9 FM – and across the globe where their signal streams live online. And like most stations that feature non-traditional content (from a radio perspective), they rely on donations from listeners to help cover their operating expenses.
To raise funds during the holiday season this year, they are hosting an auction for a new Larrivée D-03 guitar, autographed by some of the bluegrass and Americana luminaries who have appeared on the station’s popular Blue Plate Special program, which airs live music performances Monday-Friday at noon (Eastern).
The guitar has been signed by Tim O’Brien, Ricky Skaggs, Jim Hurst, Tommy Emmanuel, Missy Raines, Frank Vignola, Claire Lynch, Peter Rowan, Tony Rice, Doyle Lawson, and Bryan Sutton.
This is a professional quality, solid-wood guitar with a Sitka spruce top, Sapele back and sides, and mahogany neck. It will be awarded to the highest bidder on December 19 (via eBay Giving Works) along with its hard shell case and full warranty registration.
