- October 6, 1948 – Byron Parker died in Providence Hospital, Richland County, South Carolina, of a heart attack. He was aged 37. *

- October 6, 1986 – Art Wooten died after a long illness in Sparta, North Carolina, age 80.
* Byron Parker worked with Bill and Charlie Monroe until their partnership ended, doing a variety of odd jobs. He worked with Snuffy Jenkins and Pappy Sherill thereafter.
His role with The Monroe Brothers has been described as “half-disc jockey and half-frontman vocalist.”
