We all know The Grascals as a fun-loving bunch… but Rowdy Friends?
Count on it. They will be touring in April with Hank Williams Jr. as a package show with country artists Jamey Johnson and Eric Church. Billed as Rowdy Friends Tour 2010, the show starts in Charleston, WV on April 2.
Grascals banjo picker Kristin Scott Benson tells us how this came to be…
“The collaboration started last year, when Hank Jr. featured The Grascals on his latest album. He, in turn, is singing a song on the band’s upcoming release, The Famous Lefty Flynn’s, due out March 30. We are a fan of his and extremely excited to be a part of this tour. We had to move one performance in South Carolina to another date, but did not have to cancel any shows.”
The band will do double duty on the tour, opening each of the stadium shows, and also performing in the parking lot beforehand for the tour Tailgate Party, which will be heavily promoted at each stop. Local media will cover these pre-show festivities, bringing The Gracsals and lively bluegrass music to a large number of potential new fans.
The first five dates were announced late last week, and tickets went on sale this past Saturday through Ticketmaster.
