Garfield saves the day

Close followers of the Garfield comic strip over the years will have noted that cartoonist Jim Davis is wont to drop in the odd banjo reference now and then. Is Davis a closet five-stringer? Or does he just think the banjo is a worthy butt for his jokes?

In any event, he’s at it again. The February 9 strip featured everyone’s favorite 2 dimensional feline setting out to spare the world from more of his erstwhile owner’s attempts at music.

Garfield appears in more than 2,000 newspapers worldwide, and is estimated to be read by more than 250,000,000 people each day. Wow.

If we could just get Davis to mention Del McCoury…
