Dirt Simple Fiddle from Mel Bay

Dirt Simple FiddleWell… we’ve had Banjo For Dummies, and Bluegrass Mandolin for the Complete Ignoramus. So I suppose that Mel Bay’s new book, Dirt Simple Fiddle by Mary Ann Willis, is in good company.

Available as both a 60-page book/CD and a downloadable ebook, this new title is designed for first time fiddlers, and promises to get you playing tunes in no time. Two dozen popular fiddle tunes are used to demonstrate basic techniques, with several showed as both a simple melody and a fancy version.

Included are versions of Arkansas Traveler, Billy In The Lowground, Devils Dream, Liza Jane, Old Joe Clark, Red-Haired Boy, Sally Goodin, Turkey In The Straw and 16 others, shown in standard notation and performed on the CD.

Dirt Simple Fiddle is offered in either version for $19.95.
