Corey Hensley doing OK

Event Details

We have learned that Corey Hensley, bass player with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, collapsed on stage Saturday afternoon during the band’s set at the Lester Flatt Celebration in Sparta, TN.

He was rushed to the hospital and spent the rest of the day in the ER, missing the band’s second show.

“Doc said sugar, blood pressure, and potassium levels were all way down and I had a high fever. They got me to feeling half way decent, and cut me loose with a bunch of antibiotics.”

Fortunately, Corey wasn’t too far from his home in West Virginia, and made it home last night. He tells us that he is doing well, and plans to head out to today’s DL&Q show in Norris, TN this afternoon.

The show must go on!
