Clever video from The Fabulous Bagasse Boyz

Louisiana’s Fabulous Bagasse Boyz have a decided flair for the theatrical, which shows up during their live shows, and is plainly evident in their newest music video.

The song is It Took A Woman Like You To Make A Man Outta Me, written by Bagasse banjo boy Fritz Mayers. The video includes appearances from all the Boyz, though even their families might have some trouble picking them out.

Guitarist and vocalist Rex Hall gets the starring role, as Duhwayne, with Mayers playing Baby, bass player Willi Sager as Princess and fiddler Anthony Rushing as Sweetness.

Take it away, Boyz…

Look for the song on the band’s next album, which Mayers says they hope to release this Fall.

They also put together a “making of” video combining still images and interviews with the band.

Both videos were directed by Randy Walsh, who also wrote and produced the music vid.

  • This was pretty funny. I wonder if Randy Walsh studied at the John Waters school of filmmaking? 😉 It has a few dark undertones and banjo tones. A lot of work went into this one.
