Carter Brothers on Blue Plate Special

Tim and Danny Carter, The Carter Brothers, are heading to Knoxville for a live appearance at noon today on Blue Plate Special, which airs daily during the week on WDVX.

Though the brothers are sometimes known for mixing acoustic and electric music, this will be an acoustic show, just ahead of an all-acoustic mini-tour. Tim will be on banjo, Danny on guitar and Ross Sermons on bass.

Tim offered a brief preview…

“We’ll  be playing some tunes off of our upcoming new project to be released later in the summer: all original tunes co-written by me and my brother, with several guest artists. After that, we’re off to NC for a string of dates this week at the Flat Rock Wine Shoppe in Hendersonville on Saturday, The Garage in Winston Salem on Sunday, and Mast Farm Inn in Valle Crusis on Monday… all acoustic shows.

This will be very cool and we’re excited about these gigs. We’ve also been booked as a headlining act for the Islands Folk Festival in Vancouver, BC. It’s an exciting year for us with lots of cool things shaping up.”

You can find out more about The Carter Brothers, and hear some of their music, online.

Today’s show on WDVX can be heard at noon (EDT) in the Knoxville market at 102.9 FM, or online via live streaming at www.wdvx.org.
