Bryan Sutton video in Raleigh

Event Details

Bryan Sutton

When Bryan Sutton and his band appeared at the Fletcher Opera Theater in Raleigh, NC last month, he had a surprise guest in tow. Local resident Jim Mills, who had worked with Sutton as a member of Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder some years ago, joined the group on stage for some spirited banjo playing.

Fortunately, Dan Schram with the Tri-Cities’ Indy Week was on hand, and he shot video of the performance.

Here Mills helps Bryan and the Band on Swannanoa Tunnel, one of the songs on Sutton’s current CD, Into My Own.

And here Bryan plays Cumberland Reel, an original guitar tune of his, also from the new album.

Assisting are Casey Campbell on mandolin, Mike Barnett of fiddle, and Sam Grisman of bass.

Additional video can be found on the Indy Week site.
