This coming weekend, the folks at Bluegrass Underground will be doing a marathon taping for their second season on PBS television. Shows are scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday (2/24-26) deep inside the earth at Tennessee’s Cumberland Caverns, just a half hour’s drive from Nashville.

Scheduled to appear over the three days are The Del McCoury Band, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, The Civil Wars, Jim Lauderdale, Jerry Douglas, Sarah Jarosz and The Vespers. Ticket information is available online.

And in celebration of the show’s first year on PBS, a DVD has been released entitled The Best of Bluegrass Underground. It includes performances from Ricky Skaggs, Mountain Heart, IIIrd Tyme Out, The John Cowan Band and several others in a 90 minute video. They are available for sale through Amazon.
