Bluegrass representin’ at the White House Monday

Alison Krauss has once again been invited to perform at The White House, and will be part of a country/acoustic music celebration on Monday (November 21). She will perform in a trio format with Dan Tyminski and Sierra Hull.

Also on the program are James Taylor, Lyle Lovett, Darius Rucker, The Band Perry, Kris Kristofferson, Dierks Bentley and Lauren Alaina.

There will be a workshop during the afternoon for schoolchildren about the history and significance of American country music.

Both the workshop (2:00 p.m. EST) and the 7:00 p.m. concert will be streamed live from the White House web site. On Wednesday (11/23), a one hour edited version will air nationally on PBS at 8:00 p.m.
