Blue Moon Rising on Blue Plate Special

The reformed edition of Blue Moon Rising will offer a live illustration of their new sound – and material from their new Rural Rhythm CD, Strange New World – on Saturday’s edition of Blue Plate Special on WDVX.

The show, which airs Monday-Saturday at noon usually features touring act as they pass through Knoxville, but this is a hometown show for BMR head honcho Chris West. He and his hot young band will take the stage on December 11, along with Mountain Skyline from nearby Maryville, at noon eastern time.

The band features West on guitar and mandolin, along with Tony Mowell on bass, Brandon Bostic on mandolin and guitar, and Owen Piatt on banjo.

Check them out on WDVX, broadcasting at 102.9 FM and via live streaming online, at noon on Saturday. You can hear audio samples from the new CD in iTunes.
