Angel at the Crossroads from Adalyn Ramey

Event Details

Adalyn Ramey

Nothing raises your spirits quite like seeing a young artist who is preserving the Appalachian sound, ensuring its continuation once older practitioners are gone.

We get just that with a new single from Adalyn Ramey, a 13-year-old singer and mandolinist from Paintsville, KY who is turning heads wherever she performs. Signed last year with Dreamland Entertainment, under the direction of Jonathan Goodwin, she has released a third single from an upcoming debut album that shows why they have such high hopes for this young lady.

Angel at the Crossroads was written by Brian James and Kaci Bolls, and shares the emotions associated with feeling lost and directionless, unsure whether to push on or head home to what you know. At such a time, you need an angel there at the crossroads you face.

Ramey turns in a very mature reading of the song, with a very polished sound one rarely hears from a vocalist her age.

Accompaniment is provided by Kenny Smith on guitar, Steve Thomas on fiddle, Mark Fain on bass, and Jonathan Goodwin on mandolin and harmony vocals.

Get a taste of this teen singing sensation’s latest release in this video, which combines some behind the scene footage from the recording session with a piece of the finished track.

Angel at the Crossroads is available now from popular download and streaming services online, and to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct.
