We traveled to the west side of Michigan to see one of our favorite bands play at a new venue for us.
Williamson Branch did a weekend Michigan tour. The first stop was at Hilliards Corner Lounge in Hopkins. Hilliards hosts music regularly where many west Michigan artists play.
Patty Williams, who promotes music in the area and does a concert series each summer, introduced the band. Williamson Branch has been a part of that series. The last time they appeared, the weather forced the series indoors – at Hilliards. Owner Kevin Stein asked them back for this show.
The Williamson family band were the house band at Hilliards in years past. Hilliards is a full-service bar and restaurant with great food and service. It is an out of the way place to enjoy good food and entertainment. Our granddaughter, who joined us there, described it this way: “fields and fields and fields of beans – and then a bar!”
Any followers of Williamson Branch know that they put on a high energy show and they involve the audience.
We have watched the girls grow up on stage. Caroline was four when she hit the stage. Melody said she was around fourteen, Kadence is the middle child – need I say more??? 😊
Caroline is now seventeen and still the same sassy youngster. Melody and Kadence are both married, and Kevin (the old guy – OG) and Debbie are now grandparents to eighteen-month-old Aiden.
Kevin told a story involving he and Caroline. He was the band MC early on, and he was teasing six-year-old Caroline as she was getting ready to sing. Finally, she said – as only a six-year-old can – “Dad – start the freaking song!” Melody now handles the MC work!
Check their schedule and see this family, They make every performance a fun adventure.
