Musicians for the Bluegrass Music Museum

Event Details

Earlier this year, Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike recorded a new CD while doing a two week residency at the International Bluegrass Music Museum (read the story here). While they were there, the band saw first hand what it is like to run a non-profit set up like the museum. The band’s guitarist, Ernie Evans, left inspired, and a plan was soon developed to assist the museum with the critical work of preserving the living history of bluegrass music.

Evans has put together a concert series which will take place at the museum, with proceeds to benefit the museum. The series begins this friday, March 26, 2010 with a concert by the James King Band. In April there will be shows featuring Summertown Road and Kenny & Amanda Smith. Evans has been in touch with other bands and details are being worked out now. Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike will participate with a CD release concert later this spring for Blame it on the Bluegrass, the CD they recorded at the museum in January.

The ticket price has been set at $10 for all the Musicians for the Bluegrass Music Museum concerts. For more information and specific dates, please visit the IBMM website or call 888-MY-BANJO.
