Hurricane warnings were up all over New England but Saturday was beautiful for the 37th Blistered Fingers Bluegrass Festival in Litchfield, Maine.
James King was caught by bad weather in the Carolinas, but the Bluegrass Brothers filled in for him and did a great job. The Douthwrights from New Brunswick were there.
Jesse Brock filled in on mandolin with the Gibson Brothers (Joe Walsh was at a family wedding). Leigh Gibson predicted from the stage that winds and rain would blow lobsters up into trees the next day, and he wasn’t too far off. The rain started during their last song.
Festival hosts Greg and Sandy Cormier wisely cancelled Sunday’s show, but hope to see everyone in 2012 dates (June 14-17 and August 23-26).
