Jeanette Williams passes the hat

Event Details

jeanetteSinger-songwriter Jeanette Williams has launched a fund-raising appeal to help underwrite the cost of her upcoming EP.

The award-winning singer is using Indiegogo and is trying to raise $5,320. In return, she’s offering rewards ranging from a thank-you email for $1 to her home-cooked dinner and a show at your house for up to 25 friends for $2,500. (In case you’re interested, she discloses on her fundraising video that she’s “a pretty good cook.”

Details can be found at http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/jeanette-williams-solo-ep-project.

The EP, produced by Bruce Dees, will come out later this year. The single, I Can’t Make You Love Me, is available today (Feb. 18). This is Jeanette’s first solo project in more than five years.

“No amount is too large or too small,” she said. “Every donation counts and is greatly appreciated.”

Unlike Kickstarter, which releases funds for projects only if the overall goal is met, Indiegogo pays the artists what was raised, minus a fee, even if the amount pledged comes up short of the goal.

Jeanette’s money-raising effort runs through March 6.
