Once again this year, private Gospel bluegrass showcases will be held during the IBMA’s World of Bluegrass convention in Raleigh, NC. The showcases are scheduled for Thursday and Friday evenings (September 29-30) in The Congressional Ballroom at the Marriott City Center hotel, adjacent to the Raleigh Convention Center.
Though not part of the official IBMA schedule, these events are hosted with the cooperation and blessing of the organization. After all, what would bluegrass be without the message of Gospel music, which has been part of the fabric since its inception?
Thursday’s showcase will be hosted by Chosen Road, beginning at 11:00 p.m., with additional performances by Trinity River Band, Damascus Ridge, Rusty Nail Crossing, Circa Blue, and The Sowell Family.
On Friday, The Churchmen are the host band, with sets from The Lindsey Family, The Hinson Girls, and the Gospel Ploughboys. It also begins at 11:00 p.m.
Fans of bluegrass Gospel music are invited to include these late night showcases as you plan to attend Bluegrass Ramble events around downtown Raleigh.
