Christmas Without You from Kristy Cox

Event Details

Kristy Cox

Kristy Cox shares wistful feelings of homesickness during the holidays in her new single for Billy Blue Records, Christmas Without You.

Though Cox lives near Nashville with her children, a part of her heart remains in her native Australia, where memories of childhood Christmas linger each year as the weather turns cold and the decorations go up.

She explained that Christmas Without You came from that feeling of missing something that can’t be recaptured.

“I wrote this song with my friend John Meador last Christmas, during a time when I was missing home more than ever. Being so far from family is always tough, but at Christmas it hits a little deeper. This track captures that longing and the love that keeps us connected, no matter the distance.”

Supporting Kristy in the studio were Jason Roller on guitar and fiddle, Justin Moses on mandolin and reso-guitar, Aaron McDaris on banjo, and Evan Winsor on bass. Magnolia Williams and Jerry Salley sang harmony.

They recorded an appealing acoustic country-flavored track that conveys the sadness inherent in the lyrics.

Give it a go.

Christmas Without You is available now from popular download and streaming services online, and to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct.
