2009 SPBGMA nominees announced

Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of AmericaThe nominees for the 2009 Bluegrass Music Awards hosted by the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America (SPBGMA) have been announced.

The awards will be distributed during the annual SPBGMA convention in Nashville, which will be held February 12-15, 2009 at the Sheraton Music City Hotel.

In contrast to the IBMA awards which are chosen by members of the industry, the SPBGMA awards are determined by open fan balloting. The culture of SPBGMA favors more traditional bluegrass music, and their nominees and winners each year reflect that preference.

You can see the complete list of nominees on the SPBGMA site.
