You Left Your Lonely – new single from Songs From The Road Band

Songs From The Road Band have released a new single, You Left Your Lonely, another written by their bassist, Charles R Humphrey III, who has become one of the bluegrass world’s more prolific songsmiths.

These guys have a very interesting backstory to their music. Instead of longtime grassers who get together to pursue envelope pushing music, they are a group of jamgrass veterans who assembled to play more traditional music they have written. The enigmatic name was taken from the first album many of them did with Humphrey some years ago as a side project when they were working at the time with other outfits.

You Left Your Lonely is another take on the classic brokenhearted lover theme, with its own twist. Written by Marty Dodson, Nick Dauphinais, and Charles R Humphrey III, it runs down a list of all the things a mate took away with them, while leaving behind a “lonely” for the song’s narrator.

Songs From The Road Band are Mark Schimick on mandolin, Charles Humphrey III 0n bass, Sam Wharton on guitar, James Schlender on fiddle, and Gabe Epstein on banjo.
