The Free Rein Bluegrass Band from east Tennessee is releasing a single today, a bluegrass version of the country hit, Where Corn Don’t Grow.
A quartet that began like so many as friends just getting together to pick, Free Rein consists of Damon Seal on guitar and lead vocals, Daniel Oxendine on banjo, David Combs on mandolin, and Randall Woods on bass. Daniel and Randall add harmony vocals.
The band says that they are psyched to have new music on offer this week.
“We’re excited to share our take on the classic tune made famous by Travis Tritt – one of those unforgettable songs that instantly takes you back to the moment it hit radio.
It’s been a true pleasure to work with Darrell Webb at NoraBelle Studios to put our own spin on this timeless favorite, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed bringing it to life.
Special thanks to Kameron Keller of GreeneGrass Studio for mixing and mastering the track, along with Darrell Webb. We would also like to give a special thanks to Cleve May for bringing this tune to the band.”
Free Rein delivers the familiar song, written by Roger Murrah and Mark Alan Springer, in a slightly faster tempo, with a solid bluegrass beat.
Have a listen.
Where Corn Don’t Grow is available now from popular download and streaming services online. Radio programmers are invited to contact the band online to obtain an airplay copy of the track.
