Welcome Cager Swift!

Josh Swift, resonator guitarist with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, celebrated a major event this week – the birth of his son. Here’s his play-by-play.

“On March 24th my wife, Tobi, gave birth to our first child, Cager Glynn Swift. Up until Thursday, no Swift had ever met their Grandfather in over 250 years. We broke the cold spell when my father, Randy, held Cager for the first time on his day of birth.

I was so blessed when Doyle called me and told me he wanted me to stay home for the weekend! My guys played to a sold out crowd in Savanna Georgia while I was becoming a father for the first time.

Late that night, Tobi told me that she wanted me to go to Ohio and Tennessee with the guys. She was so thankful for DLQ and for what they have done for us. She said ‘Cager is great, I’m great, now you go do your thing baby!!’

I met up with the guys in Knoxville yesterday mid day and we hit the road!

Doyle and the guys are so excited and I can’t wait to watch my boy grow up!!!”

Congratulations to Tobi and Josh, and a hearty bluegrass welcome to Cager.
