Walk Out in the Rain from Red Camel Collective

Event Details

Red Camel Collective

Red Camel Collective has been riding high since being named IBMA’s New Artist of the Year last fall. Still touring with Junior Sisk for the summer season, they are about to step out fully on their own later in 2026 as Sisk looks toward retirement after 2027.

They have a new single with Pinecastle Records to share, a reworking of a ’70s rock number called Walk Out in the Rain.

Guitarist and vocalist Heather Berry Mabe explains.

“This classic Bob Dylan tune, covered by Eric Clapton in 1978, had its first bluegrass overhaul when Ronnie and Rob McCoury released it on their self-titled album in 1995. With a catchy upbeat tune and sassy ‘see ya later’ theme, the song lends itself perfectly to a female lead singer. I’m stoked to be the gal for the job!”

Written by Dylan with Helena Springs, Clapton made it the opening track of his Backless album. The Collective turn it into a fast-moving grasser, led by Tony Mabe’s sparkling banjo and Johnathan Dillon’s mandolin, supported by Heather’s driving rhythm guitar and Curt Love’s bass. Stephen Burwell adds some fiery fiddle and Jaelee Roberts sings harmony to Heather’s supple lead vocal.

Everything this bunch touches seems golden.

Check it out.

Walk Out in the Rain is available now from popular download and streaming services online, and to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct.
