Track Premiere: Up To You from Alex Leach Band

Mountain Home Music has a new single tomorrow for The Alex Leach Band, and we have it this afternoon for our readers to enjoy. It’s another track from their upcoming sophomore effort with the label.

This is one Leach wrote with Mountain Home A&R representative Jon Weisberger called Up To You. The song showcases Alex and the band’s odd blending of styles, combining a fierce mastery of the traditional mountain sound, with a propensity to experiment with more progressive bluegrass sounds.

Alex shared a bit about how this one was composed.

“I am very excited to release Up To You. I brought the idea to Jon a few months back about an optimist and a pessimist on a trip together, and how each of them viewed a stressful situation. After writing for a bit, we decided to let the listener be the one to decide if they thought of themselves as a positive thinker or a negative thinker.

I also want to compliment how tastefully the band played and sang on this track. I hope this song will cause the listener to think about how they deal with situations, all while groovin’ to the music — but at the end of the day, take it exactly how you want, it’s completely ‘up to you.'”

The band in question consists of Alex on guitar and lead vocals, his wife, Miranda Leach, on vocals, JT Coleman on bass, Joshua Gooding on mandolin, and Jason Johnson on banjo.

Have a listen…

Up To You will be available on November 5 from popular download and streaming sites online. Radio programmers will find the track now at AirPlay Direct.
