The Festy Experience goes live in October

The Infamous Stringdusters have teamed up with The Artist Farm, Cerberus Productions and Devils Backbone Brewing Company to kickoff a new 2-day camping festival near Charlottesville, VA.

The Festy Experience will be held over the Columbus Day weekend, October 9-10,  on the concert grounds by the Devil’s Backbone brewery, an award-winning microbrewery at the foot of the Blue Ridge mountains in Nelson County. The ‘Dusters will serve as the host band, performing both days, along with The Tony Rice Unit, Railroad Earth, Larry Keel, Packway Handle Band and several others.

Given the lineup and the overall vibe coming from the organizers, one would expect a good bit of interband jamming on stage, and a culture oriented towards fun on site.

Travis Book, bass man and vocalist with the Stringdusters,

“We’ve been talking about launching our own festival for several years and the perfect location, a great group of partners and the vision for The Festy came together last fall. We’ve got a bunch of our favorite bands, we’ve got local bike and running race organizers to stage their events simultaneously, we’ve got the worlds best small brewery, a ridiculous ticket price ($44 for two days of music and camping!), guided outdoor adventures like mountain biking, kayaking, and hiking and a picture-perfect location just outside Charlottesville, VA.

We know we’re going to learn a lot this first year, but I’m confident that everyone who makes the trip will be glad they can say they were at The First Festy. It will be a truly unique festival experience.”
