Knoxville’s Brand New Box of Matches, the bluegrass duo of Elizabeth Sherman and Ryan Hardison, has a new song to share this month.
It’s one Ryan wrote and Elizabeth sings called Tennessee Dead, all about a woman who grew up living a simple life, met a man and married, and then had to watch as he betrayed her with another woman. From the title, you may surmise how it turned out for the philandering husband.
They recorded the track in their home studio, with Sherman on bass and Hardison on guitar and banjo, and assistance from Evie Andrus on fiddle, and Steve Potts on mandolin.
Have a listen and see what you think.
Tennessee Dead is available now from popular download and streaming services online, and to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct and Get It Played.
