Steve Gulley recovering from surgery

Event Details

Steve GulleyWhile much of the eastern United States had another snow day yesterday, Steve Gulley made a trip to a surgery center to have his gall bladder removed. The surgery had been scheduled in advance and went well. He was able to return home yesterday afternoon.

The prolific singer, songwriter, producer, recording engineer, and band leader underwent a laparoscopic procedure to remove the offending organ which was found to be distended with bile. But the surgeon was able to drain and remove it laparoscopically, avoiding major invasive surgery.

Steve’s doctor had also been concerned about a pair of small tumors they had seen on his liver, but report that those were blood vessel tumors of a very common nature, and nothing to be concerned about.

His wife, Debbie, tells us that Gulley is a bit restless in his recovery.

“He is home, quite sore and will be forced to relax for a few days, which is not his nature. We are so thankful that everything went well and he’s on the mend.”

Looks like things are good in the Gulley household, and that Steve will be in the pink for his next performance at the SPBGMA convention next weekend in Nashville.

Good news all around!
