OK… so discontinued isn’t the right word, but there will be no more of these solid wood, Larry Sparks Blueridge guitars made.
When Saga Music introduced their BR-3060 guitar as a Sparks signature model in 2009, it was marketed as a limited edition instrument. The intended number have now been built, so current inventory is all that is left. Larry has several for direct sale, as do many local Blueridge dealers.
The BR-3060 is a replica of Sparks’ early-50s D-28, including the trademark double pickguard. It is made with a solid Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, with ebony bridge and fingerboard. The body and neck are bound in ivoroid and Larry’s signature is overlaid on teh peghead.
Retail price is listed as $1695.00.
David Gartland at Saga Music tells us that they have been pleased with sales of these unique guitars.
“Both Saga and Larry and very happy with the outcome of the project, and look forward to working together on other projects again in the future.”
You can find more photos and details on the Blueridge web site, where you can also find a dealer near you. Larry can be reached by email if you want to get one of the last signature Sparks guitars straight from the source.
