Song of the Water Kelpie video from Punch Brothers

Event Details

Punch Brothers

Punch Brothers have released a second track from their upcoming album, The Unsung Adventures of Punch Brothers, another example of their adventurous and virtuosic string band music based around the ensemble Bill Monroe established when he created bluegrass music.

Led by the ineffable Chris Thile on mandolin, the Brothers now have a sister, with Brittany Haas having joined the band on fiddle. Otherwise they are as it was at their creation in 2006, with Chris Eldridge on guitar, Noam Pikelny on banjo, and Paul Kowert on bass.

This latest offering is presented in a live music video, and like the full album, it is strictly instrumental. They’ve chosen one called Song of the Water Kelpie, very much in keeping with the sound they have developed over the past two decades.

Have a look and listen.

Punch Brothers are touring now extensively over the summer and fall, with a European tour set for early next year. Full details can be found online.

Pre-orders for the new album are enabled as well, ahead of its July 24 release on Nonesuch Records.
