The International Bluegrass Music Association has announced that Sam Bush will be this year’s host at their annual International Bluegrass Music Awards show, September 29 in Nashville. This will be his second time at the podium for the awards show; he had served with distinction in 2007.
This gala event is the high point of the bluegrass social calendar, and the community’s big night in the midst of IBMA week in Music City. It always occurs on the Thursday of the World of Bluegrass convention, capping off that four-day event, and leading into the weekend’s Fan Fest concerts.
These awards are chosen each year by professional members of the IBMA, making them true peer awards, and ones that are cherished by the recipients.
The nominees for 2011 will be announced on August 17.
