When the Remington Ryde Bluegrass Festival launched in 2007, it was held at the Mifflin County Youth Fairgrounds in Reedsville, PA. Things went well for the festival, founded and managed by Ryan Frankhouser, guitarist with Pennsylvania bluegrass band Remington Ryde.
But for the 2013 event, they had outgrown the facility in Reedsville, and moved the festival to the Grange Fairgrounds in Centre Hall, PA, where it has run to this day. The 20th annual weekend fest took place there June 24-28 this year.
Coming up n September, Frankhouser is giving Reedsville another go, with the debut Remington Ryde Reunion Bluegrass Festival, back at the Mifflin County Youth Fairgrounds. Folks who remember the early days will have a chance to relive some memories when Nothin’ Fancy, Remington Ryde, Larry Efaw & The Bluegrass Mountaineers, and more head to ton September 10-13.
Camping will be available, and tickets are only $50 for the weekend through August 21. Food vendors will be on site
Ryan has planned this as a one-time reunion, but if things go well, who knows? There could be two Remington Ryde Bluegrass Festivals each year.
