Rangers run to Rounder

Steep Canyon Rangers are expecting to close out 2010 by announcing an agreement with Rounder Records. As we understand it, the final contracts have not yet been signed, but should be executed by year’s end.

The guys have recently completed a collaborative project with Steve Martin, and will be on tour with Martin in the spring, with plans to cut a new project for Rounder as time allows. Loose plans are for a 2010 release for the band album.

SCR guitarist and lead vocalist Woody Platt tells us that the band is proud to be associated with Rounder.

“We are excited to be signing with Rounder Records–over the past 40 years they have proven to be one of the premiere independent record labels. We are looking forward to working closely with them to try and continue our growth as recording and touring artists!”

Look for the Rangers in January doing their “solo show,” before jumping back into the Steve Martin mode in March.
