New bass man for LRB

Lonesome River Band is traveling with a new bass player, Barry Reed, who had worked previously with Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper. Barry had left the road – and his gig with Michael – when his first child was born, but has been eager to get back at it of late.

LRB bandleader and banjo picker Sammy Shelor says that Barry is a great guy to have on the road, and that he is loving the sound of the upright bass in the band sound.

“I am really enjoying playing banjo with Barry in the band. We’re having a lot of fun and look forward to getting back in the studio soon to start on a new album.

Barry is a fine acoustic bass player and singer and adds greatly to the LRB sound”

Barry joins Shelor along with Andy Ball on mandolin, Brandon Rickman on guitar and Mike Hartgrove on fiddle.

You can find their full tour schedule online, which includes their appearance at IBMA Fan Fest and their traditional IBMA week show at Nashville’s Station Inn.
