Nathan Stanley touring in tribute to Ralph

Nathan StanleyNathan Stanley, grandson of the recently departed Dr. Ralph Stanley, has organized a special tribute tour in his honor. The show is being billed as A Tribute to my papaw, Dr. Ralph Stanley.

The tour will begin in September, and run for several months. Nathan will be accompanied by a crack band including a number of former Clinch Mountain Boys, with Marty Raybon, Jim Lauderdale, and Don Rigsby also appearing on selected dates.

Dewey Brown will be on fiddle, Junior Blankenship on guitar, Becky Webb on bass, Alex Hibbitts on mandolin, and Chris Monk on banjo.

Nathan says while he contemplates his life without Ralph, he wants to pay homage to his grandfather, mentor, and patron.

“Before I move any further I wanted to do this tribute to papaw because he was everything to me, and without him, I would have never become what I am today. I owe it all to him. So it just felt right in doing it. We have all kinds of special things that will go on during the show.”
